Based on our own experience, we know that virtually all questions which potential managers have before signing up will be quickly answered by simply competing in your first fantasy tournaments.

What are cryptocurrencies and the blockchain?

Sorare co-founder Nicolas Julia says: “Blockchain technology provides superpowers to Sorare cards.” By using blockchain technology, the licensed digital cards have a proven scarcity. If you own a Sorare card, it’s yours. You have complete ownership of this card and can use it at any time in fantasy baseball tournaments on the Sorare platform or for any potential side games – or you can sell it again. The Sorare cards can already be used in a few other games outside of Sorare itself, and there are likely to be more ways to do so in the future.

A cryptocurrency is a digital asset which has been designed as a medium of exchange, similar to traditional currencies that are used to pay for goods and services. For cryptocurrencies, records about payments are stored in a ledger, similar to a large database that is accessible for everybody. It uses strong cryptography to secure transaction records, control the creation of additional items, and verify transfers.

A blockchain is a decentralized and usually public digital ledger made up of records which are called blocks. This allows transactions to be recorded and used across many computers, so the blocks involved cannot be changed retroactively without having to change all subsequent blocks as well.

What is a wallet and why do I need it?

You can use a digital wallet to fund your Sorare account. A digital wallet acts as a kind of bank account for your ETH. You should therefore make sure that you don’t forget your recovery key.

Sorare recommends using Metamask because this software is currently considered to be the most reliable wallet for interacting with the Ethereum blockchain. You can install Metamask as a plugin in Chrome, Brave or Firefox. For Smartphones, there are also some wallets available.

How can I deposit funds into my Sorare wallet?

As soon as you have registered on Sorare, your wallet is created and you can easily transfer funds via Ramp or Moonpay. For example, you can use Ramp to convert your deposit in USD to ETH. You don’t have to pay fees for such a deposit.

When you click on your Sorare wallet, you will see the option “Fund With Ramp”. The following steps are explained in detail in the FAQs on Sorare’s website, but the process is essentially self-explaining and you can also cancel and restart at any time.

How can I withdraw funds from my Sorare wallet?

The easiest way to withdraw is to use the “Withdraw” option in your Sorare wallet. All you have to do is enter your external wallet address and the desired amount. You will then receive an email asking you to confirm.

You can transfer funds from Sorare to your wallet by clicking the “Withdraw” button in your Sorare wallet.

Note: It is important to have some ETH in your wallet to pay Ethereum network transaction fees and withdraw funds.

If you have requested a withdrawal, you will not be able to use the funds in Sorare until the withdrawal has been completed. For this reason, you will see a different balance at the top right than when you call up the corresponding menu in your Sorare wallet.

How can I transfer my Sorare cards to an Ethereum wallet?

You can import your digital baseball cards into your own wallet by going to your Sorare wallet, clicking ‘Settings’ and exporting your private key. Once you have this private key, import it into an Ethereum wallet and see the Sorare cards inside. Please only follow these steps if you are an advanced Ethereum user.

My Sorare wallet is locked. How can I unlock it to make payments?

You must request the key recovery in your Sorare wallet settings. For security reasons, these emails are sent manually, usually at the beginning of the following day. If the email does not appear in your inbox, it may be in the junk or spam folder.
